On August 22, 2024, Cambodia Securities Plc (CSP) organized its first Capital Market Forum in Phnom Penh, gathering hundreds of local and international securities experts, investors, and business leaders. Civil Service Minister Hun Many highlighted the forum's role in exploring investment opportunities within the Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX), which currently lists 23 companies—11 equity firms and 12 corporate bond firms—with a collective capital of nearly $400 million. CSX CEO Hong Sok Hour noted a significant increase in trading volumes, rising from approximately $20,000 per day in 2018 to nearly $300,000 per day in 2023, alongside a steady growth of about 1,000 new trading accounts opened monthly. CSP Director Heng Oudom emphasized the firm's commitment to assisting companies in meeting listing requirements and connecting with international markets, leveraging extensive global experience to enhance Cambodia's market development.
